DENIAL PREVENTS THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION OF FIRING ALL OF THE WHITE COPS FROM ELSEWHERES

DENIAL PREVENTS THE OBVIOUS SOLUTION OF FIRING ALL OF THE WHITE COPS FROM ELSEWHERES.

All of you folk working from within to exact real change in America are like superheroes to me! Really.

My concern is that once these studies, recommendations and organizing drives are implemented,

it’ll be like another Ferguson where their study showed that 16,000 of the 21,000 residents had outstanding warrants out on them

and we STILL refused to implement or even say the obvious solution of firing ALL of the white cops from elsewheres patrolling and brutalizing Black spaces

and train and hire within with mandates from the community itself and watch 95% of our newsfeed just **poof** disappear.

Now I understand why, because it’s like having a bucket when the damn springs a leak; focus on saving as many as you can

and every life matters and every person counts, but then another damn springs a leak...and another...and another

and it’s time to start thinking (and then collectively saying) that maybe we need to fire all of these damn builders

and train and hire folk who live in the areas where the damn is being built to build the doggone damn ourselves?!?

The trouble with Occam’s Razor is that denial, self interest and self preservation beats common sense every time.

We wouldn’t tolerate this evil and ineptitude in our regular workplaces.

Having to put a camera on someone to make sure that they’re doing their job right.

Again, this is NOT a rebuke in ANY way because every single step we take saves lives and lifestyles;

it’s just a reminder of the overall picture that needs to be in sight.

Protesting inequities is amazing and matters so much but in India, their overarching goal was to kick the Brits out

and today, their economy is ranked #3 in the world 🌍 behind only China and the U.S.  Food for thought.

Can’t wait ‘til we have our own media. Everything changes.

When white folk dump, we can’t get Angry about it

I got angry over a white (almost white) person saying that I’m overreacting. Immediately afterwards, I berated myself, thinking that I should’ve held my cool. But just as we laud those black heroes who articulate the pain rather than express it, we condemn ourselves for feeling what is normal to feel.  Part of colonization says that I have no right to be angry and that my anger is naturally perceived as a threat so it’s in my best interest to hold my tongue. This is not normal. We must break the economic, physical, emotional and spiritual consequences to be true human beings. Otherwise we’re just lying to ourselves. “How dare they get angry over our oppression of them!”

Rigged Legal System

Search words: Rigged Legal System, Gauntlet of oppression, racial profiling throughout  Years ago on jury duty, I was asked to render a ‘fair and impartial’ judgement regarding a young Black man accused of possession on the Upper East Side. There were only two Black people on the jury, myself and another dude. After a very long time, we ended up finding the defendant guilty. That’s the end of the story but not the narrative. The twelve main things I came to realize: 1. Several Black potential jurors were citing a mantra about their unwillingness to participate in a prejudiced judicial system. It was my first time hearing it but should I be called again, I’ll google it and voice my objection in the same way. 2. The suspect was stopped for a broken taillight, but as his wife said when she examined their car at the station, the light was never broken. 3. The white judge, however, ruled that the bust was still legit even though he was clearly stopped for drivin...

ON REPARATIONS

Never banter with white folk about reparations. It’s like arguing with your boss about wages they haven’t paid you. The only acceptable answer, whether they can give it or not, is “Yeah… You right!” Anything less from them is pure toxicity.
