SO I’M CANCELING MY AMAZON PRIME MEMBERSHIP

SO I’M CANCELING MY AMAZON PRIME MEMBERSHIP

So I’m canceling my Amazon Prime account. They don’t make it easy having me jump through hoops to do it when they could just put it on the menu list to unsubscribe.

I had to go to the questions list and type in www.amazon.com/gp/primecentral

The good news is that one of my chess clients had given me a gift card (that I forgot about) and I had points accrued so my final order which would have cost $80 only cost $9.

I opted for the movie & shows portion because it came with the free shipping

but there isn’t anything that I want to see there that I haven’t seen already.

“Smalls says the employee who tested positive came into contact with many other workers for longer periods of time before her test came back.

He claims he was singled out after pleading with management to sanitize the warehouse and be more transparent about the number of workers who were sick.“

So now they’re out my $13 a month or $156 a year. The power of one. 156 x 1 million subscribers is 156 million.

The bad publicity is gonna cost them far more than if this pathology of systemic racism had decided to break the trend

and treated this Black man with respect for once. It’s gonna cost them far more than face masks, decent working conditions and pay.

But even if it does not, they will get no more of my money! It’s called self respect. Google it!

Boycotting the NFL because of Kaep was easy for me since I rarely watch.

Boycotting Starbucks a while back was very difficult with the free WiFi and the Moco Choco Latta Lattas and the convenient workspace for my small chess business.

And that was just one mal treatment from one Starbucks. But the racist pathology got exposed so they had to make changes across the board.

But now with the lockdown, everyone is boycotting. Go figure.

But here with Amazon, they’re exposed with having meetings with the CEO of this multi-billion dollar company to besmirch brotherman’s name!

AS IF WE BLACK FOLK DON’T HAVE ENOUGH PROBLEMS LIVING OUR OUR FREAKIN’ LIVES ALREADY!

But it’s racism combined with greed and a lack of integrity.

Years back, me and this white woman bump into each other while I’m holding our infant son.

It was just a light tap but she does this film flam operation - only I can’t be 100% sure. That’s how it works.

We call the cops who tell me just to walk away. I give this older woman my number just to be sure.

She ends up suing and it costs us a chunk of change because we didn’t have insurance to cover that.

My makeshift lawyer that I got through the ad company I used to work for told me to counter sue. I told him that we can’t do that because it was barely a tap.

So it all cost us.

Years later, I’m riding on my adult scooter with the light and a Big Mac Truck rams into me (driver clearly drowsing at the wheel while running the red light). My scooter gets snapped like kindling but I manage to grab the grill in front to keep from going under.

Clearly, The Almighty was with me! I get this white driver’s number, he pays for the scooter and I call him back a week or so later to tell him I’m ok.

If we keep living in this toxic, racist environment, we’re gonna run out of honorable men and women like Kalief Browder,

who spent 3 YEARS at Rikers for refusing to  to cop to stealing a backpack!

It’s like there’s some sort of spell preventing folk from seeing the obvious. Either we break the spell or the spell breaks us.

Can’t wait ‘til we have our own media. Everything changes.

ON REPARATIONS

Never banter with white folk about reparations. It’s like arguing with your boss about wages they haven’t paid you. The only acceptable answer, whether they can give it or not, is “Yeah… You right!” Anything less from them is pure toxicity.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERSUASION AND CONVICTION

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERSUASION AND CONVICTION Decades ago, in my teens, my oldest brother and I had a talk where I said, “Can you believe that they’re having another gay pride parade?” He told me that he participated in a gay pride parade. Then we just stared at one another - and because many don’t know how to communicate without language, I will translate: Me: (But you’re not gay) Him: (True, but our struggle is their struggle and theirs is ours) Me: (Hmmm. Now I have to rethink everything because this is my brother whom I love challenging my core beliefs). I was persuaded that day. Today, my brother is long dead but I’m still reposting. That’s called CONVICTION.

Rigged Legal System

Search words: Rigged Legal System, Gauntlet of oppression, racial profiling throughout  Years ago on jury duty, I was asked to render a ‘fair and impartial’ judgement regarding a young Black man accused of possession on the Upper East Side. There were only two Black people on the jury, myself and another dude. After a very long time, we ended up finding the defendant guilty. That’s the end of the story but not the narrative. The twelve main things I came to realize: 1. Several Black potential jurors were citing a mantra about their unwillingness to participate in a prejudiced judicial system. It was my first time hearing it but should I be called again, I’ll google it and voice my objection in the same way. 2. The suspect was stopped for a broken taillight, but as his wife said when she examined their car at the station, the light was never broken. 3. The white judge, however, ruled that the bust was still legit even though he was clearly stopped for drivin...
