TODAY IS OPPOSITE DAY FOR US BLACK MEN

 We Black men have just gotta do the opposite of what they say and ignore the naysayers. They’re not for us anyway.


Both Black and white laughed and reviled Venus and Serena’s dad’s vision. We need to go out and buy his book!


They scoffed at this dad here until they were forced to imitate to stay relevant.


They eliminated the Black Panthers but incorporated their CHILD breakfast program all across America.


Ice Cube, a man with 30+ YEARS of pro Black credentials who demands that both parties not get something for 


nothing and calls us to leverage our vote (the Shirley Chisholm way) gets reviled by their media - and we follow suit.


While white cops from elsewheres all over this country who are 95% of the police force patrolling and brutalizing and hashtagging in Black spaces voted for 45 and we say NOTHING about that because our media masters haven’t told us to.


Fire them ALL!


I don’t care if no one else says it. When it’s finally done, then everyone will claim that they were with the commonsense mandate all along.


I don’t care if no one else bans ALL white comments on their pages. What matters is that this is a safe space for us to commiserate and grow.


But we need to commiserate first and speak openly on how we’ve been duped and conditioned not to trust ourselves and one another.


Then we need to grow and understand that reparations will NEVER be on their agenda - especially if we’re programmed for it not to be on ours!


If we’re not about firing ALL of the white cops from elsewheres patrolling and brutalizing Black spaces, then why should they be?


How can we ignore that the hashtags continue no matter who’s in charge? I know how. It’s our conditioning. And breaking it won’t be easy. 


Our enemy - our spiritual enemy - wields their greatest weapon against us. And it’s not what you think 🤔 


It’s not lust or greed or pride or envy. It’s not even hate or unbelief for that matter. Because EVERYONE sees that there is a God at one point or another just by looking around.


Scripture confirms this fact and we know it to be true. There’s no reason to confirm with consensus.


So what is it? The enemies’ greatest weapon? Discouragement.


But I am a follower of Jesus not of 23 but of 53. 53 year old me looks at 23 year old me smiling, shaking our head and says, ‘kid, we fought hard... but we sure had a lot to learn!


And should I make it to 83, I’ll be saying the same thing about my 53 year old self today. The older I get, the more powerful I become, unlike with what the world says.


Gray hair is a crown of splendor! As I grow from a thin tree that others can lean on to an oak with branches and leaves where many can rest in my shade.


And should I be cut down, my roots go so deep...


So now, when folk say ‘You’re secretly a Trump supporter! That’s why you defend Ice Cube!’ I say, what if I am? And what if he is? Does it justify us not leveraging our vote?


And when folk say ‘You’re siding with Jussie because you’re a closet homosexual’, I say what if the only reason I’m against what’s being done to him is because he’s a pretty man? 


Does that negate you siding with the corrupt and corrupted CPD when the facts of the two separate eyewitnesses corroborating Jussie’s story of his assailants being white is just a google away?


And should they say that my harping on the rampant domestic violence and rapemongering among us (because it’s mainly Brad who rapes Becky and Jamal Jada)


is catering to the feminist attempt to divide us by gender, I say what if it is? Does it justify continuing in the HORRORS that keep going on in the name of unity?!?


Malcolm stood tall when he confronted the man WHO HAD LITERALLY SAVED HIS LIFE on the hypocrisy of sleeping with his underaged secretaries and then ousting them once they got pregnant. 


white folk have yet to denounce their FOUNDING FATHERS who have done far worse and so our nation continues in its depravity where 500,000 US kids are trafficked (mainly by cops) in CHILD rape rings each year!


Or incarcerate more people (mainly us Black folk) than any other nation on the planet EVER!


So we can continue on our current path of changing only when THEY mandate the change, or we can take a different road for our God, ourselves and our CHILDREN.


The two greatest gifts that The Almighty has given us, long before salvation, is the gift of choice and a day like TODAY.


So TODAY, choose who you want to be and the road you will take to get there. Be well.

I got angry over a white (almost white) person saying that I’m overreacting. Immediately afterwards, I berated myself, thinking that I should’ve held my cool. But just as we laud those black heroes who articulate the pain rather than express it, we condemn ourselves for feeling what is normal to feel.  Part of colonization says that I have no right to be angry and that my anger is naturally perceived as a threat so it’s in my best interest to hold my tongue. The Kerner Commission of 1968

“Our nation is moving towards two societies: one white, one black — separate and unequal.” - Kerner Commission 1968 And this statement was made 4 years after the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which was supposed to ‘correct’ the separate and unequal. What we gained from that era is essential: the right to vote, the right to use the same facilities including bathrooms, water fountains, restaurants, libraries and schools. But during that same time, we lost our media and its narrative. Black reporters were needed to report on the Black experience and the white papers paid much better. And when the Black papers went defunct, the Black reporters (in their previous numbers) were no longer necessary. So we had no narrative to guide us into the new era. I’ll be gone in January so let me leave a few tips: And if you contend with their banter (right or wrong), the truth of say the Native genocide HORROR gets lost in the sauce. They refuse to lament over the evils of the past and so reflexively, in their denial and dissonance, engage in banter meant to distract.
