STRENGTH COMES FROM OWNING WHEN I’M WRONG

The fact that I did not see Biden winning in 2020 bears repeating and because I pledged to be off FB should I be wrong and I strive to be true to my word, I’ll be off FB beginning in late January 2021

when Biden and Kamala officially take the White House - or sooner if they have to do an Obama and move in earlier to stabilize the country.

I was wrong. 45 didn’t win due to the Dems being mandated to show us no love in swing states, giving Black folk zero incentive to brave the the polls en-masse.

Instead, some bright souls came up with something new, of bringing the polls to them via sending them early voting rosters! Didn’t see that coming!

Commonsense has its limits via patterns; new variables are often a game changer.

I’ve really enjoyed this over a decade of having a voice. And I’ll be leaving on a good note and thankfully, a friend had the foresight a while back to set me up with a blog, so there’s that.

I’m grateful for those who have schooled me on what is vs. what I thought and what I was erroneously conditioned to believe.

And kudos to ALL of the white folk who’ve adhered to my mandate of NOT commenting on my page! I don’t say it enough. The very act of respecting my wishes sends an internal message that we Black people are - in fact - people.

And kudos to the Black folk who worship them who went with rocking the vote! You were right!

And to those who prayed for change, Amen! I have been trained by some of the best in the world 🌍 spiritually; some who are no longer with us in the flesh but are cheering in the spirit.

I also learned from those who also exited FB a long while back as well as from those still here. Will miss you all.

And one last thing: for those who like me, didn’t spot this new thing of pushing early voting ballots bringing the polls to Black folk in swing states etc, you should apologize as well - or at least acknowledge how this made a difference.

You can even say something snarky like even a broken clock is worth twice a day.

But whatever you do, please don’t do the white people thing of being naysayers for Biden then pretending that we predicted him winning all along.

Our strength lies in the times when we’re wrong and we OWN it! As of today, guess how many folk pointed out how they were wrong in 2016 and in January where 45 was NOT impeached out of office on their pages? You guessed it.

And it’s not entirely their fault. The world paints integrity and owning our being wrong (we’re only human after all) as weakness instead of the strength God calls it to be.

I’m grateful to have been taught otherwise. Be well and be safe and enjoy the changes - whether you saw them (or like myself, did not).

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERSUASION AND CONVICTION

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERSUASION AND CONVICTION Decades ago, in my teens, my oldest brother and I had a talk where I said, “Can you believe that they’re having another gay pride parade?” He told me that he participated in a gay pride parade. Then we just stared at one another - and because many don’t know how to communicate without language, I will translate: Me: (But you’re not gay) Him: (True, but our struggle is their struggle and theirs is ours) Me: (Hmmm. Now I have to rethink everything because this is my brother whom I love challenging my core beliefs). I was persuaded that day. Today, my brother is long dead but I’m still reposting. That’s called CONVICTION.

ON SCAPEGOATING WHITE SAVAGERY

Those who brought their CHILDREN to lynchings dressed in their Sunday best are not ghouls or monsters or any more racist than white folk are today. They’re just people conditioned to do what white savagery tells them is acceptable. And decades from now, they’ll scapegoat the white folk today who ignore the hashtags, refuse to say fire ALL of the white cops from elsewheres, creating the most incarcerating nation on the planet...EVER! All while continuing their 22nd century conditioned evils without a thought of repenting. It’s like there’s some sort of spell...

When white folk dump, we can’t get Angry about it

I got angry over a white (almost white) person saying that I’m overreacting. Immediately afterwards, I berated myself, thinking that I should’ve held my cool. But just as we laud those black heroes who articulate the pain rather than express it, we condemn ourselves for feeling what is normal to feel.  Part of colonization says that I have no right to be angry and that my anger is naturally perceived as a threat so it’s in my best interest to hold my tongue. This is not normal. We must break the economic, physical, emotional and spiritual consequences to be true human beings. Otherwise we’re just lying to ourselves. “How dare they get angry over our oppression of them!”
