THE DEVASTATION OF POLICE INJUSTICE

Fire ALL of the white cops from elsewheres!

What white people don’t understand (or maybe do understand and don’t care) is that if someone Black like me 

who’s never even smoked a cigarette in his life gets targeted by cops and ‘flaked’ (cops plant drugs on me),

then I won’t take a plea deal, will pay for bail, will pay for a lawyer until the charges are finally dismissed while they

continue to do this to countless others who look like me who might’ve smoked a cigarette or more and who cannot

afford bail and who might cop a plea deal, gaining a record. The thing about a record is that someone like me 

could no longer teach CHILDREN chess in school or out. Schools often check to see if you have a record of ANY kind.

But in either scenario, the white cops from elsewheres bypass justice. And if they are fired, they’re rehired elsewheres with a strong police union and a Gofundme to boot.

Unless they’re Black like Cariol Horne. Then the union disappears, and so does her pension after working 19 years 

and with no Gofundme for doing the right thing and keeping a brutalizing white cop from choking out 

yet another Black man while he’s in handcuffs, she’s stuck driving a truck to support her family.

Fortunately now, her case has garnered more attention, but there are so many good cops like Cariol Horne (Black and white)

who are punished or fired while the white cops from elsewheres who brutalize, flake and hashtag are 

often made heads of their departments! Fire ALL of the white cops from elsewheres!

It’s like I’m talking to myself here...

Search words: Rigged Legal System, Gauntlet of oppression, racial profiling throughout  Years ago on jury duty, I was asked to render a ‘fair and impartial’ judgement regarding a young Black man accused of possession on the Upper East Side. There were only two Black people on the jury, myself and another dude. After a very long time, we ended up finding the defendant guilty. That’s the end of the story but not the narrative. Never banter with white folk about reparations. It’s like arguing with your boss about wages they haven’t paid you. The only acceptable answer, whether they can give it or not, is “Yeah… You right!” Anything less from them is pure toxicity.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERSUASION AND CONVICTION Decades ago, in my teens, my oldest brother and I had a talk where I said, “Can you believe that they’re having another gay pride parade?” He told me that he participated in a gay pride parade. Then we just stared at one another - and because many don’t know how to communicate without language, I will translate: Me: (But you’re not gay) Him: (True, but our struggle is their struggle and theirs is ours) Me: (Hmmm. Now I have to rethink everything because this is my brother whom I love challenging my core beliefs). I was persuaded that day. Today, my brother is long dead but I’m still reposting. That’s called CONVICTION.
