THE COMPLEXION FOR THE PROTECTION

THE COMPLEXION FOR THE PROTECTION

When a Black Muslim cop killed a white woman in fear of his and his partner’s life, who startled him by banging their patrol windshield, he got 12 years with no chance of

parole ‘til 8 were served. His chief was also forced to resign as a result. The woman’s family was given a record amount of compensation before they even had time to hire a

lawyer and no protests were necessary for compensatory justice. Instead of being maligned for the foolish move of startling armed cops on duty (something every Black

person in America knows NEVER to do), she’s lauded once again as the most innocent of victims (just like Nurse Wubble). No narrative about drug or blood alcohol levels.

No history of any kind (and everyone has a history of some kind). No mention of traffic violations or violent tendencies or trouble in the home. No talk of her parents’ past and

their possible influence. No mention of CHILDREN misbehaving in class, which is also a factor. No talk of the overall crime rate and how we just can’t possibly know the

dangers officers face putting themselves in harms way for us ALL.DAY.EVERY.DAY! But this CHIEF! has destroyed countless Black lives and families with his frame-ups

and he’s sentenced to only 3 years?!? There are Black folk (mainly men) who were framed into doing hard time who will STILL be rotting in prison long after he’s released!

And many of you and them are okay with that. Like we’re ok with countless Black folk (mostly men) being exonerated after spending decades DECADES! on death row

WHO WEREN’T EVEN AT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME!!! And a sentence of 3 years with time served and ‘good behavior’ for a white man (or even a wannabe white man) can

easily be reduced once the fanfare dies down. Johannes Mehserle, the white cop who was infamously filmed murdering Oscar Grant while he was handcuffed from

the back and lying on his stomach served only 8 months!
Fire ALL of the white cops from elsewheres!

It’s like there’s some sort of spell preventing folk from seeing the obvious evil. Either we break the spell or the spell breaks us. Can’t wait ‘til we have our own media. Everything changes.

When white folk dump, we can’t get Angry about it

I got angry over a white (almost white) person saying that I’m overreacting. Immediately afterwards, I berated myself, thinking that I should’ve held my cool. But just as we laud those black heroes who articulate the pain rather than express it, we condemn ourselves for feeling what is normal to feel.  Part of colonization says that I have no right to be angry and that my anger is naturally perceived as a threat so it’s in my best interest to hold my tongue. This is not normal. We must break the economic, physical, emotional and spiritual consequences to be true human beings. Otherwise we’re just lying to ourselves. “How dare they get angry over our oppression of them!”

BAN ALL OF THE WHITE GAZE COMMENTS!

BAN ALL OF THE WHITE GAZE COMMENTS! They strain at a gnat yet swallow a camel! Toxic...yet effective! I’ll be gone in January so let me leave a few tips: And if you contend with their banter (right or wrong), the truth of say the Native genocide HORROR gets lost in the sauce. They refuse to lament over the evils of the past and so reflexively, in their denial and dissonance, engage in banter meant to distract. Example: we say that we heard that ‘picnic’ means pick a n**ger to lynch. They’ll quickly chime in that that’s not the word’s etymology. They’re like SNOPES; pretending to be impartial but only (with maybe a few exceptions) chiming in on the negative regarding race. Or they’ll agree with what we’re saying but insist that we label them the exception. NOT YOU, BRADLEY! NOT YOU, VIRGINIA! The HORROR of how they’d accuse an innocent Black man (often a small business owner),  jail them, schedule their public hanging in the paper and have men, women and CHILDREN come out dressed in...

Rigged Legal System

Search words: Rigged Legal System, Gauntlet of oppression, racial profiling throughout  Years ago on jury duty, I was asked to render a ‘fair and impartial’ judgement regarding a young Black man accused of possession on the Upper East Side. There were only two Black people on the jury, myself and another dude. After a very long time, we ended up finding the defendant guilty. That’s the end of the story but not the narrative. The twelve main things I came to realize: 1. Several Black potential jurors were citing a mantra about their unwillingness to participate in a prejudiced judicial system. It was my first time hearing it but should I be called again, I’ll google it and voice my objection in the same way. 2. The suspect was stopped for a broken taillight, but as his wife said when she examined their car at the station, the light was never broken. 3. The white judge, however, ruled that the bust was still legit even though he was clearly stopped for drivin...
