Black Belt Commonsense

 When Black leaders are quick to point out what to say when we’re stopped and frisked (which is always needed),  but are slow to mention the racist insanity of having mainly white cops patrolling mostly Black areas!  It’s like there’s some sort of spell…

 So where is the uproar when not one but two Black women world champions bow out from their sport because of the racist media for health reasons?  Their media of course focuses in on the “health reasons“ but we all know the truth!  Did Michael Jordan put a black tape over his mouth to stop speaking to the racist press for health reasons? Did Eddie Murphy only give interviews with Bryant Gumbel because of the racist press for health reasons? When we look at the interviews at the races press conducted with Mohammed Ally, they’re all about how he’s slowing down. No one mentions how our government took three years from him while he was in his boxing Prime! White people, boy! Can’t wait ‘til we have our own media. Everything changes.

 It’s only terrorism if it happens to us. Otherwise, it’s keeping the peace. If I sell my products to only Black people or I distribute my products are use all the black distributors, that’s racism.But if they keep us out, those are simply the laws of commerce.

 When the disciples walked with Jesus, they seemed to know little of the overall PLAN yet followed him, many in the hope of some governmental change or new order. But if that were the hope then he failed utterly. That’s why God says YOU’RE WAYS ARE NOT MY WAYS and the like. Now, we’re in the age of redemption as opposed to a kinder society of the fatally unforgiven. And great kindnesses (and hardships) came because of the BIG PICTURE. But how can we mere humans compare the physical changes, good or bad? Who knows what’s really happening? When brotherman, the footballer, got on a podium and told the world that ‘thug’ is code for the N word, they STILL continued to hashtag us and send us to prison in droves,  but my narrative process SHIFTED. Every talk, every conversation, every prayer is not to be underrated. Can’t wait ‘til we have our own media. Everything changes.

When white folk ‘accidentally’ say racist comments before thinking, it makes us wonder how many racist attitudes they think but catch before saying.

 One problem that I’ve had about the past is asking ‘Didn’t our leaders see the inherent problem in all of these white cops from elsewheres patrolling and brutalizing Black spaces?’ I’m gratified to find that the answer is ‘Of course they did!’ But you have to dig deeper than the history books. Look at the YouTube videos of speeches and things like letters from Birmingham jails to find the truth. So the next time someone says that King should’ve realized beforehand that we were integrating into a burning house, remember that this 39 year old at the time of his murder was one of the wisest men on the planet and that there are other options besides ignorance. Given the nature of racism in America, one option is that what they told him about integration wasn’t their actual practice policy implemented.  Another option is that he had to cut a deal, meaning that in order for integration to occur, they had to give up certain businesses of their own.
